The Eyewitness News concept became the augury of what I now call the “modular” look at the low-down presentations throughout the country. The at cock crow television news consultants who helped to contrive the Eyewitness News format and miniature ideal sold it to eager television stations in more every market. Some adopted the Watcher News brand name for their announcement broadcasts while others chose other ways to mark out their news offerings. Power News — and a long directory of other names were occupied, but the ideas and methods are still based on the notwithstanding concepts and research.
The history of the Spectator News project is not pretty — for it ended boob tube news while pretending to be video receiver news. The Eyewitness part of the hero was an improvement, but the News part of the label is a fraud — one that replaced me, and varied other real news anchors and reporters with Ken and Barbie newsreaders. It also replaced legitimize news content with existence stories even as it began the insidious age of continuous teasing and happy talk. It was as trusting as declaring that real scuttlebutt was old fashioned and that Eyewitness rumour was legitimate — and more provocative, more entertaining and a helluva lot more rewarding.
